Graham’s Blog - Sept 2017

Hi All Trailblazers

Its been a fabulous year and a very busy one indeed. Usually I can take it easy for a few months in the heat of

the Spanish Summer to unwind but this year has been full on….still not complaining!

DECEMBER RIDING

December is a fantastic time to visit us! The days are bright and sunny with a pleasant temperature of 20c most days whilst the evening can be cool. This makes it ideal for trailriding. Give us a call to check our availability for this month. We ride everyday except Chrismas day, so why not think of a festive holiday in a saddle!

THE NEW POOL AT THE NEW BIKE BASE

The new swimming pool at our bike base is totally finished! Great for a cool

down after a day on the bikes!

NEW RAIDS:  AL ANDALUS DIRT BIKE ADVENTURE & BANDOLERO RAID.

Starting in February 2017 we started a brand new Raid with a new route. We

have now operated this raid a couple of times and has been a great success. Great riding in both Malaga and

Granada Provinces!

The Bandolero Raid is a new 2 day ride with 3 nights hotel accommodation in 3 different hotels en route. It takes

in the old village of El Borge where we stay one night in Posada La Banolero, an amazing rustic Spanish old

hotel, full of character and charm!

All best to you all.    Graham

Autumn 2016

I am  consistently asked what is the difference

between the bikes used for trail bike riding and

adventure bike riding?   Its like comparing chalk with

cheese.

Trail bikes    This is the confusing bit.  There are very

few trail bikes manufactured that are up to the job.

Nearly all bikes used for trail bike riding are enduro

bikes not trail bikes.   Enduro bikes for trail bike riding

vary with different engine capacities 125 up to 530.

4 stroke and 2 stroke.     That is the nature of the

beast.

Adventure Bikes    These are technically not off road bikes.  They are capable of limited off road riding.  They are

very heavy bikes and very expensive to repair i.e if you drop them on rocks etc  expect big bills.  Therefore if you

want to do limited adventures off roading and I mean

limited and  don´t mind big bills these are for you.

The Dakar bikes are modified enduro bikes not

adventure bikes.   Dont be fooled into buying an

Adventure Bike  if you want a true off road riding

experience.  Buy yourself an enduro bike.

My advice for  new off roaders is to  buy the smaller cc

engine.   Retailers will try and sell you a 450, you may

find at first they are too powerful and it will put you

off.   This  is a shame because true trail bike riding is a

wonderful way to explore the countryside.

Better still why not spend a couple of days with me in sunny Spain and try out my varied fleet of KTM and

Honda 2 stroke and 4 stroke enduro bikes with variable cc engine capacities?

Hope you have found this helpful.  I   look forward to welcoming you to the wonderful world of true trai lbike

riding in the unspoilt mountains of Andalucia, Southern Spain.

All the best,

Graham.
